Frequently asked questions

Do you have dye lots?

Each skein is lovingly hand-dyed and thus is unique. When purchasing ANY hand dyed yarn, it is strongly suggested that you purchase the amount you'll need for your project. When guess-timating, purchase more. When working on a project that uses more than one skein of yarn of the same color, it is recommended that you work from multiple skeins of yarn and alternate between skeins every 2 rows or so to prevent color-blocking. (I do this by carrying my yarn up the wrong side or along an edge.)

Care instructions

Hand wash gently in cool water, lay flat to dry for longevity. Even superwash wool does better when treated in this gentle manner. If you are making someone a gift and you KNOW that gentle care just isn’t going to happen, make sure to choose a superwash yarn and strongly hint that turning the garment inside out and/or using a lingerie bag would be wise.

What are your thoughts on collaborations?

I couldn’t be happier! As artists, makers, designers and dyers, we are here to create and lift each other up. I’d love the opportunity to work with you!

According to USPS guidelines, claims must be filed by you, the recipient, through USPS. Once the package is picked up by the postal service the ownership of that package is now yours.

How many skeins do I need for knitting a pair of socks?

This is probably one of my most asked questions! I wear a US size 9 and can easily make a pair of socks with one skein. My socks are for a 10-inch foot and approximately 8-9 inches high for the leg. I have even made my son (men's size 12) out of one skein. Unless you are planning on making knee-highs, you are safe with one skein! Mini skeins are an add-on for the fun of having different colored toe/heel/cuff, but not required to get the yardage for knitting a pair of socks.
